CRAFT CULTURE BRINGS HANDMADE TO THE OKANAGAN FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Kelowna, BC November 21, 2019 – When it comes to fun things to do in the Okanagan during the holiday season, the annual Craft Culture Holiday Market is tough to beat. Prospera Place is opening its doors once again for the highly anticipated holiday event, which brings over 180 crafters and artisans to Kelowna for a weekend of Holiday shopping festivities. On December 7th and 8th, shoppers are given the opportunity to find that perfect, one-of-a-kind gift for a friend or loved one that caters to various tastes and budgets. As Craft Culture enters its 7th year, generations of visitors and locals will come together to support artisans from B.C. and beyond as they showcase their work to the City of Kelowna.
Year after year, customers are treated to a curated selection of modern wares that are lovingly handcrafted or designed by Canadian talent. Craft Culture carefully selects each vendor to ensure certain criteria and quality standards are met – a process which sets them apart from similar events in the community. Patrons arriving at Prospera Place have peace of mind knowing that the vendors at this market are the “best of the best”, and there is no need to look elsewhere.
In addition to amazing shopping, this year’s focus will once again be on customer enjoyment and Holiday Spirit. Craft Culture will be extending the hours again to offer customers the option late night shopping on Saturday until 7:30pm. While it is no secret that this event draws a large crowd, organizer Karalyn Lockhart wants to ensure customers that there are stress free options. “We would like to remind customers that we rarely see lineups in the afternoon. If at all possible, we encourage customers to arrive later in the day. We do have to comply with capacity regulations, and unfortunately are not able to let all of our eager and loyal customers in at once! If you would like to avoid the crowds, afternoons and Sundays are the best time to visit our event.”
In an effort to space out the crowds, extra incentives have been added. Customers arriving after 2:30pm on both days will be entered to win stay a grand prize from Predator Ridge Resort, including a one night stay in The Lodge with dinner and a round of golf. Stroller parking will be available by donation to the non-profit organization Her International, allowing families to navigate the event with ease. And to make the weekend more festive, Prospera Place will have a bar set up on the show floor, giving customers the opportunity to sip while they shop.
Admission is $5 per person and kids under 12 are free. Partial proceeds of all door sales will be donated to Mamas for Mamas. The first 50 people through the day both days receive a bag full of swag. Once inside, all customers can enter to win one of 40 amazing door prizes donated by vendors.
