What is your business, and what do you make?
My business is Coloursparks and I work in fiber and colour. My main art practice is felt making, which I practice in both a artisan and fine art way. I dye my knitting yarn and have created my own brand, and I knit  and design accessories, such as hats, cowls,  and fingerless gloves. I also offer supplies for felting.

How did you get started in this business?
I began as a Waldorf School Handwork teacher and learned  about dyeing and fiber. Then I did a BFA and learned a lot about art.

Is this a full time job for you?
My art practice and my artisan business is, as of this fall, my full time work.

What is your first memory of making something?
My brother showed me a sweater I made for him when we were teenagers, I don’t remember making it, but I guess I did. Otherwise I made a fair isle for a boyfriend in a weekend when I was in my early 20’s.

What are your favorite and least favorite things about being craft fair vendor?
My favourite part is selling my stuff…and I love all the parts of the show…my least favourite is putting the things away when I get home.

What is the biggest compliment you’ve ever received about your work?
Someone bought a piece of my felt work at Art walk. Then a friend from university was at this woman’s home and this perrson who bought my piece wanted to show my friend  a piece she bought at Artwork, which ended up being my piece…I thought that was cool.

What is one holiday tradition in your family?
We celebrate Christmas Eve because my husband and kids grew up in Switzerland.

What was the last gift you gave someone?
I gave my daughter-in-law a scarf I bought while on holidays in Greece.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real
or fictional, who would it be?
I would love to trade places with Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey, I can’t decide…both are about cooking and food, but their personalities are different…I love Jamie Oliver’s sweetness and Gordon Ramsey’s intensity

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
My superpower would be the ability to change all the judgement that people impel on our world and on others and on themselves.
